Artist Statement

I'm a freelance illustrator based in Reading with a passion for environment and location. I love exploring the world around me -immersing myself in natural and urban environments - finding beauty in the unassuming and overlooked, and bringing these things to life in my artwork.

My aim with my art is to capture the voice of a place. To depict locations emotionally and atmospherically, with a heavy emphasis on tight, focused colour palettes, strong scene composition and visual storytelling to capture a sense of place and strong mood. I consider every element of a scene carefully to give my environments a sense of history and life, and compose these elements carefully to best convey the emotion, focus and scale of a scene.

I work in a unique, multidisciplinary art style drawing on my experience in painting, fineliner drawing and digital image editing software. This style enables me to create highly atmospheric works with a strong sense of depth, highly detailed but also loose and expressive, capturing the essence of the locations I depict.

I am passionate in exploring environmental themes in my work, creating pieces that celebrate nature and explore the harmonious coexistence of humans and the environment.​ I'm keen to explore these ideas through a range of different visual languages and settings, drawing from my many disparate influences in visual arts, music, film and games to create unique, evocative landscape work that I hope can have a positive impact.​
